Insurance

Nepsis Integrative Psychology is an out-of-network insurance provider. This means we do not bill insurance directly, however, clients have two great options for utilizing their insurance benefits. Out of network insurance benefits can often be used to receive potential reimbursement for your sessions.

Let’s face it, dealing with insurance companies can often be as confusing as it is challenging. Services covered can be unclear, benefits can be hard to understand, even how to file a claim correctly. Nepsis Integrative Psychology has partnered with Mentaya, a company that makes the billing process more comfortable. With Mentaya, we can look up your insurance benefits before your first appointment, so you’ll know what to expect regarding costs. Mentaya files your claims for you and helps you get your money back quickly. This helps remove the administrative burden for clients already struggling with emotional overhwhelm, anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues.

With a service like Mentaya, you pay the therapist the full rate day of service, and Mentaya will submit the superbill information on your behalf. This eliminates any administrative burdens (e.g. emailing, faxing, waiting on the phone, fighting claims etc.) for you! Once you meet your deductible, you’ll receive your reimbursement within weeks, ultimately making the cost of therapy much more affordable.

If you have out of network benefits, you should be eligible to be reimbursed for a portion of the cost of your therapy (usually 30-90% depending on plan) after you’ve met the out of network deductible. In exchange for handling claims submissions process for you, Mentaya charges a fee of 5% of the claim amount (5% of $225 = $11.25). This fee is charged per claim. Our practice covers the monthly membership costs of using Mentaya, and clients cover the 5% claim fee per session.

Nepsis Integrative Psychology chose Mentaya due to transparency and ethical responsibility and as a way to remove obstacles to treatment for clients. You do not have to use Mentaya to get reimbursed. The service is 100% optional, and as your counseling psychologist, I do not benefit in any way from your participation.

If you choose not to work with Mentaya, I will provide you with a superbill, which you may submit to your insurance company directly for reimbursement at no cost to you. A superbill is basically a receipt for an out-of-network therapy session. It contains the basic information needed by insurance companies before they can approve payment.

Note: Nepsis Integrative Psychology is not a Medicaid provider and cannot work with you if you have Medicaid benefits.

Privacy Practices

Notice of Good Faith Estimate

Under the law, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate if you are paying out of pocket, do not have insurance or choosing to not use insurance. Cost can vary significantly depending on a number of factors such as sessions needed, session frequency, presenting challenges, diagnosis, implementation of counseling recommendations, and other varying factors. You can ask your health care provider for a Good Faith Estimate of total costs before you schedule a service (see estimates on consent for treatment form), or at any time during treatment. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, or how to dispute a bill, see your Estimate, or visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
